BEATEN BRASS WORK.
RONGOTEA INSTITUTE. For several weeks members of tbe Rongotca Women’s Institute have had regular classes for instruction in beaten brass work, and Monday of this week saw practically tho completion of many articles. Boxes have been covered, wall plaques and firescreensm ado, to say nothing of fireside boxes. >Some of the designs used have been quite apart from those generally chosen, one member having a wall plaque showing a horse’s head, another having a very lifelike deer with uplifted head clia playing splendid antlers, while a firescreen also showed (ho heads of two fine horses. The members are to be congratulated on tlieir enterprise and the thanks of all are due to the dcmons'trators and helpers, and also to the ether members who came and dispensed afternoon tea. —Rongotea correspondent.
