WAR IN SPAIN
GOVERNMENT’S POSITION. RESIGNATION PREDICTED. PREPARED TO NEGOTIATE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) PARIS, Nov. 24. The Bayonne corerspondent of Le Jour predicts the almost immediate resignation of the Spanish Government, and the formation of a more moderate Government. The Ministers, headed by Senor Valla - dares, a former Premier, are prepared to negotiate with General Franco. This decision is reported to have been reached at a conference at Barcelona with Senurs Coinpanys and Negrin.
Le Jour states that 3000 Anarchists have been shot in Barcelona recently and 2000 have. died of starvation. A message from Salamanca stated that General Franco is hopeful of a new offensive to crush the Republicans and speedily to end the war. Preparations lor the great push are continuing in November and it is reported that tliere are now 300,000 on one sector alone.
