OBITUARY.
PHILIP DE LASZLO. LONDON, Nov. 22. Mr Philip do Laszlo, the Hungarianborn portrait painter, who became a naturalised British subject in 1914, died to-day, aged 68. Mr Laszlo painted Edward VII and many other notables. He was elected president of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1930. Philip Alexius de Laszlo was born at Budapest in 1869. He was educated at the Industrial Art School and National Drawing School at Budapest. He was awarded the Gold Medal at Paris Salon in 1899 for n portrait of Prince Hohenlohe, also for a portrait of Pope Leo XIII in 1900. He also did many other notable portraits.
