WOODVILLE, Nov. 23. There Avas a representative gathering' in the Women’s Institute Hall to hear an interesting address by Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., for Waitomo, avlio spoko under the auspices of the NeAv Zealand National Party. The Woodville Jockey Club has been granted tho use of tlio Dannevirke Hospital Board’s Ambulance for their annual races next month. Ratepayers of Woodville, Weber, and Dannevirke are reported to ha freely signing a petition prepared by the Farmers’ Union asking for severance of Southern Hawke’s Bay from the Ilawke s Bay Rabbit Board. . . Continuing the fixtures in the Southern Hawke’s Bay cricket competition, Old Boys scored a nine wicket win over Phoenix, and Woodville lost to Dannevirke. A pre-Avedding social Avas tendered to Miss A. Taylor by the members of , the Papatawa W 7 onien’s Institute. . Games, items, competitions and community singing led by Mrs J. McCormick, made the afternoon an enjoyable one. Those who contributed were Mrs 11. Sillifant and Mrs A. Schroder, of Woodville. A musical competition Avas won by Miss M. Torrie. Mrs A. Dickin, president, extended good Avislies to Miss Taylor.
