TRINITY COLLEGE REPORT.

APPRECIATION EXPRESSED,

The session of the ministerial committee of the Hawke’s Bay-Manawatu District Synod of the Methodist Church was continued in Palmerston North yesterday afternoon. Rev. W. A. Mills, who had been orally examined earlier in the day. was recommended to the forthcoming conference to be passed in his third year subject to his written examinations proving satisfactory. Mr J. H. Woolford, a candidate for the ministry, was examined in theology by Rev. C. M. Roberts. Rev. A. E. Waite presented the report of the candidate’s trial sermon. The committee decided to recommend him to the forthcoming conference to be received for training.

The report of the principal of Trinity Theological College was presented by Rev. C. M. Roberts. The. committee expressed its anpreciation of and satisfaction with the work of the college. No objection was raised concerning anv minister probationer or homemissionary with regard to bis doctrinal teachings of lu’s ability for the work of, the Methodist ministry. " 'Rev. A. Ashcroft read extracts from the pastoral resolutions, as published in the. Methodist Law Book. These resolutions deal with a minister’s duties in the home, the studv, the pulpit, amongst His people and with, regard to his work in t’’e care and training of the young. These resolutions must be read each year at the ministerial committee. Rev. T. E. Leadlev offered a nraver of re-dedica-tion, after which tho journal was signed by the chairman and secretary.

The members of the Ladies’ Guild were thanked bv Rev. A. E. Waite for their hospitality in providing afternoon tea.
