ROAD SERVICES.
AMALGAMATION PROPOSALS. Per Press Association. NELSON, Nov. 22. The proposed amalgamation of certain road motor services in the Nelson province was the subject of a public inquiry held to-day before Mr T. H. Langford, commissioner. Representations were recently made to the Minister of Transport concerning possible effects of the proposal on the fruit industry. After hearing the evidence, the commissioner adjourned the inquiry, ‘which will be resumed in the nature of a round-table Conference, probably at Mapua, within a week. General agreement with the broad principle of amalgamation was expressed by all parties.
