DOMINION CENTENNIAL
PREPARATIONS PROGRESSING. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. Headway in the prepartions _ for New Zealand centennial celebrations in 1940 are being made, stated the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. W. E. Parry. The Minister said that in a comparatively short time the work had been started and reports received from time to time showed that very few matters had been missed. In what had been undertaken a spirit of helpfulness and co-opertion, which the Government hoped the committees would engender in the centennial, exists in full measure. ‘The aim is to have the whole of the people in the celobrations, all doing their share to make the occasion a memorable one. Members of committees have been focussing attention upon archives in many districts _ not previously suspected of holding much valuable material of the kind wanted. The search had been surprisingly well rewarded by facts about the country’s early days.
