(From Our Own Correspondent.) ICAIRANGA. Nov. 19? A plain and fancy-dress dance was held recently in aid of the jubilee funds by the members of the old pupils’ committee. The hall was tastefully decorated and a professional orchestra supplied tho music. Air M. Ganderton playing an extra.. Air Allen gave a tap dance and Mr Sherrifts sang songs. A competition was won by Miss Freda Doherty. The best dresses were Aliss E. Burmoister (Poster) and Mr P. Reardon (Ru Klux Klan). Among these presont were: Misses B. Hughes, Maori Wahine; P. Cadogan, Baby; J. Green, Queen of Sheba; A. Cooper, Ghost; D. Clark, English Gentleman; N, Jackson, Irish Sweepstake; T. Davey, Carnival; J. AlcLaren, floral taffeta; 15. Keating, blue taffeta; J. McKenzie, black velvet and fur; N. Greenhow, gold satin; M. Greenhow, dusky pink cloque; L. Taylor, blue marocain; I. Lawrence, pink georgette; O. Lawrence, checked taffeta; J. Anderson, silver lame and lace; .R. O’Neill, green taffeta; J. Campbell, lemon floral ninon; I. Frazei, navy taffeta; P. O'Donnell, brown taffeta; Mrs E. E. Capp, blue velvet.
The final euclire party for this season was held on Wednesday night. Prizes wero won as follow: Airs J. Burmeister 1, Miss 11. Hall 2, Mr 0. Collis 1, Mr F. Cummins 2. Aliss J. Davey won a competition. The points prizes were won by Airs Hall and Mr 11. Turner. Mr G. Mitchell presided over the November meeting of the ICairanga Young Farmers’ Club. The chairman, on behalf of entrants in the jbdging competitions at the'Royal Show, thanked members for their support with entry fees. Teams to take part in a debate at the next meeting were selected. The lecture for the evening was provided by Air Madden, of Palmerston North, whose . subject was “Pasture Management.” The chairman, on behalf of’the club, thanked the speaker for his interesting talk.
