The Palmerston North public is eagerly looking forward to '‘The Land of Promise.” Supporting Mrs Ashwcll as Norah Marsh and Mr Park as Frank Taylor, arc some talented members of the Little Theatre Society. Mrs Freybcrg, who so cleverly portrays Agnes Pringlo, the subdued companion to a wealthy English lady, is well known for her portrayal of the lead “Mrs Pembroke” in “Nino to Six,” and “Joanna of the Cross” in “The Cradle Song.” An outstanding characterisation is that of tho shrewdisn Canadian woman, Gertie Marsh, which is handled in a masterly fashion by Miss Myra Reid. Another clever character study, that of Dorothy Wickham, is most cleverly handled by Miss Joyce Wellwood.
