THE CENOTAPH INCIDENT. Received August'3l, 1.10 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 30. James Joyce, aged 53, a naval pensioner, who was to-day charged in connection with the incident in which a man removed his wooden leg and laydown at the foot of the Cenotaph, denied that he had insulted the Cenotaph He declared he had been refused a hearing by the Admiralty and accordingly had made the demonstration. An official of the Ministry of Pensions admitted that Joyce had a grievance, which- lie promised should be investigated. Joyce was discharged.
