PROGRESS AT NAPIER. ,■ Per Press Association. NAPIER, Aug. 30. The present season has produced remarkable evidence of the success ot the Ahuriri Lagoon development scheme, under which an area, of 7500 acres of former swamp lands and seabed is being brought to an advanced 6tate of fertility. As a result, the earthquake areas, on which the greatest progress has been effected, now carry 1100 breeding ewes and 100 cattle, while 200 lambs have already made their appearance. Extensive cropping is under way.
