FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
WETHER MARKET UNCHANGED. The Bank of New Zealand (produce department) has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week: —Tho market for wethers is quiet and unchanged. Trade in ewes is slow. There is a good demand for lambs. at present prices. Larger supplies of chilled beef have caused prices to weaken. Wethers, light, 5Jd to s|d perlb; heavy, 4Jd to Ewes, 3£d to 4£d. Lambs, 2’s, 7id to 7|d; B’s, to 7^d; 4’s, 7j£d to 7id; seconds, 7id to 7£d. Beef: Chilled hinds, 5d to 6d: chilled fores, 3ld to 31d.
