PREPARING FOR THE FEAST.—Papeete had many attractions for the passengers of the Maunganui on the Island cruise, from which she returned recently. Among them Was a feast cooked in the native way and eaten under the balms at Pierre Loti's Pool, while the Tahitians sang and danced for their amusement.
