•Mrs J. Caldwell and her daughters, of Waitoa, Waikato, arc staying with her parents, Air and ilrs W. B. Duthic. The many friends of Mr John Thomas heard with regret of the accident, resulting in his death. The late Mr Thomas was wellknown and took a keen interest in many movements of the district. The district loses an ideal farmer and a good citizen. Miss S. Hunter and Mr Snelgrovc, of Wellington, were recent visitors' to Bunny-' thorp'o. A meeting of the Domain Board took place on Tuesday to consider the proposal lor rebuilding the dwelling on the Domain reserve. It was decided to nold over the building until a deputation, from the board waited on the Minister. A report was received of improvements carried out and it was decided to erect a new fence fronting the tennis courts, and the chairman was instructed to obtain shrubs. A euchre match between the Bunnythorpe Club and Cook Club, of Palmerston North, for the euchre cup, hold by the Bunnvthorpe Club, was played on Thursday, resulting in a win for Bunnythorpe by 47 games to 41. The funeral of the late Mr Thomas took place at the Bunnythorpe Cemetery on Friday afternoon, when there was a very large gathering. The' service was conducted by Hov. A. J. Farncll. A meeting of menthols and adherents of the Methodist Church took place in the Sunday school on Friday, to make arrangements for the jubilee of the church, which was built in 1887. There was a good attendance presided over by Rev. C. A. Foston, and it was decided to bold the Sunday service in November, the preacher to be llev. F. Copeland, president of the conference. It was decided to hold a banquet on the Tuesday and a social gathering' on the Wednesday evening. A subcommittee was appointed of the Ladies’ Guild to carry out the catering for the banquet, also Mr Foot on and Messrs J. H. Fowler, J. W. Glcvcly, and W. Eggleton to attend to the programme for the function; Mr Eggleton is to attend to the musical items. It was decided to obtain records of the ministers of the opening of the church, and all records cf its work as carried out during the past fifty years.
