At a meeting of the executive of the Palmerston North branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association a donation of £l4 was received from the trustees of the Women’s National Reserve.

The ..sight of a heavy cloud of smoke hovering over a house in Broadway at 10 o’clock last evening caused a pedestrian to summon the Fire Brigade. The services of the brigade’were not required, however.
