POLICE INTERVENE. BOUT AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 28. AVhen the police intervened in the second round of a wrestling match between Earl McCready (16.12) and Frank Judson (16.0), McCready was •awarded a penalty fall, on which he won the bout. There had been two outbursts of jolting and throwing and when near the end of the round the men were struggling in a corner against ,the ropes the referee ordered them to break. As they separated Judson struck McCready with two heavy jolts. McCready became aroused and the wrestlers and the referee were entangled for a moment until a police sergeant intervened and Ij le wrestlers were separated. The penalty fall was the only fall of the match.

BLOMFIELD AVINS AGAIN Per Press Association.

WESTPORT, Aug. 29. What is regarded as the best wrestling bout staged in Westport occurred on Saturday evening when “Lofty” Blomfield gained a decision over JVlatros Kirilenko in the sixth round, Blomfield throwing the Russian out of the ring and the latter being unable to continue within the allotted time. WOODS DEFEATS MARSHALL. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Aug. 29. Although each man secured a fall, Joe Woods was awarded a points decision against Floyd Marshall in a wrestling bout held last evening. It was a lively contest. Woods making the better use of forearm jolts. In the fifth round Woods dumped Marshall after dropping him with a barrage of jolts, Marshall gaining the equalising fall in the last round with a body press following a drop-kick. There was no doubt about the decision, as Woods was the aggressor practically throughout. WESTCOATT SCORES EARLY. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH. Aug. 29. Opening sensationally. Rusty AVestcoatt drop-kicked Glen AVade to gain the only fall ten seconds from the start of their wrestling bout at New Plymouth last night. The bout was interesting and vigorous and AVade was unfortunate not to draw or win.
