INTERNATIONAL SOCCER.

HUNGARY DEFEATS ITALY. Received August 30, 1.15 p.m. PARIS, Aug. 29. The exigencies of football again upset the Italians when Hungary unexpectedly beat them I—o in the semi-final of the soccer at the University games tournament. Italy protested on the grounds that the referee, who was supposedly a Czechoslovak, was actually a Hungarian. The Football Commission over-ruled the protest because it was not lodged before the match. Italy therefore refused to meet Latvia to decide the third place. The tournament ended: Germany 1, Hungary 2, Latvia 3.
