B CLASS STATIONS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —From time to time matters, of varying importance—such as removing 4 few shrubs from the Square gardens, «5r decrepit railway stations —are brought before the public notice by citizens. Indignation is expressed; the matters are dealt with, and peace feigns once more. On Tuesday night text the biggest blot of all will be Completed and will remain —with hardly a comment being raised. I refer to the departure of the locally owned radio station 2ZO from the air. For some six years this station has provided the only programmes that appeal to the average man in the Btreet. This station has been a genuine asset to the city and has helped the needy through appeals. . Assisted into power by an empty promise to aid the B stations, our Socialist Government proceeds to stamp out all private enterprise irrespective of its use to the community. who will take Mr Kyle’s place at the Hospital at Christmas ? Where will the kiddies get their little thrill of saying or singing their pieces over the air P It is perhaps too late to do anything in the matter now, but the big consolation is—and it is a big one—that it is yet another nail in the Labour Government’s coffin. I •m, etc., CONgTANT LI STENER.
