At the annual mooting of (lie Linton Rifle Club, Mr G. Craw had boon elected president and Mr H. Akers secretary. The Levin Dairy Company had manufactured 230 tons of butter and 130 tons of cheese for the season. There had been plenty of labouring work offering in the country districts at 9s a dav. At a mooting of the Manawatu Racing Club, Mr It. S. Abraham presiding, it had been’ decided to cease operating a double totalisator at the meetings. Wanganui had defeated Manawatu at Rugby by 66 points to nil. Only 6ix of the 17 tries had been converted.
