(From Our Own Correspondent.) KELVIN GROVE, Aug. 27 There was a good attendance at the fortnightly euchre party. The ladies’ prize went to Miss Rollett; men’s first Mrs G. Walker; ladies’ consolation, Mrs L. Wolfsbailor. After supper dancing was held. On Wednesday night euchre enthusiasts from Hiwinui camo here to play for the shield held by the local players, but wore unsuccessful. . .. . Miss G. O’Brien is spending a holiday at home with her sister, Mrs M. Ryan. Last night heavy rain fell and this morning creeks are running high. Tho rain was much needed in this district, because most tanks wore nearly dry.
