AUSTRALIAN RECOVERY.
“SPECTACULAR SUCCESS.” Received August 28, 1.40 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 27. The Manchester Guardian, in a leader, declares that Australia’s recovery is more spectacular than almost any other country, adding: “Rt. Hon. J. A. Lyons naturally wants to put. the best complexion on the defence programme, all the more because of the strong cleavage in Australian opinion as to whether his. aims are right and whether the Dominion’s defence needs will best be secured by concentrating opinion on the navy, as he believes, or on the Air Force, as Labour proposes.”
