HOKOWHITU BROWNIES.

The Hokowhitu Brownie pack held a. parent's’ afternoon at the Hokowhitu School recently. Afternoon tea was served, the Brownies making most attentive hostesses. Sweets and programmes were for sale, and a copper trail held, the proceeds of which were donated to the Hospital chapel fund. The meeting started with a prayer, then followed roll ca.ll and inspection. Valda McPhail was enrolled and Ruth Archer received her second-class badge. Miss Stuart (district captain) presented service stars to Delys Murray, Audrey 7 Cole and Joy Tiddy. The meeting continued with a recitation by Mary Shouler, knotting and balloon relays, nature games, and a sing song around the toadstool. Taps concluded a very happy afternoon. Mrs Kenyon .and Mrs Bloomfield won the lucky programme and spot prizes. Mrs Shovder expressed thanks to the Brown Owl and Pack for the interesting afternoon.
