WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Industrial and trading issues comprised the bulk of the turnover recorded on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday. Prices were generally steady on a quiet market. Government loans continued in [ good demand at firm* rates, but supplies [were very scarce and no dealings wererej ported. Wellington City debentures were | quoted at firm prices, but no sellers were offering. Bank issues were extremely dull, iho only buying quotations being Commercial of Australia at 18s 4d, and Bank of New Zealand D mortgage at 28s 6d. Abraham and Williams were wanted at 57s 6d for the ordinaries and 87s 6d for the preference. Goldsbrough Mort were fully firm at 36s 3d. There was’ a fairly well-spread inquiry for industrial shares at steady rates. Gold mining issues were stagnant, there being a complete absence of quotations for New Zealand shares.
