AYOODVILLE, July 22. The annual meeting, ot the AAoodvilie Methodist Women’s Missionary Auxiliary was presided over by Rev. T. Coatsworth. It was reported that two sacks of old clothing, weighing 1 ewt., had been forwarded to the home mission sisters for distribution among the needy Maori people, ft was deckled that in future all money received from the Birthday League be donated to the Medical I 1 mid lor the Solomoh Islands. Skinner; representative to quarterly board, Atrs W. Bowman; atier noon tea convener, Mrs J. Signal. Although the winter has been one of the coldest for years, the rainfall lias keen very light. The local rivers and streams are seldom lower in the summertime than they are at present. An enjoyable time was spent by all those who attended the “500” and bridge afternoon held in aid of the Woodville Croquet Club. Those present included Alesdames Hume, Nicholas, Redmond, Offwood, AYhillans, AlcCool, Giles, Parkin, S. Wright, Twaddle, S. AlcLntosh, C. Smith, Fairley, Boyd, AA’hite, Noble, Lucas, King, Scltaw. Johnston, senr., AA". Galbraith, Henderson, Gardner, Stitt, Curry, Kelly,, McCarthy and Halpin. Airs Curry (vice-president) presented the prizes to Mrs Boyd, Pahiatua, and Mrs 8. AA'right. The Oddfellows' Ha.ll was crowded with over 80 members and friends at the annual reunion of the AA’oodville Returned Soldiers’ Association, and the gathering was one of the most enthusiastic held for several years. The number of visitors included members of the AYaipawa, Dannevirkc. Pahiatua, Alasterton and Ashhurst Associations, the president of the local body (Air F. JX Alackie) presiding. Among apologies for absence were messages fronv the vice-president of the New Zealand;! R.S.A. (Air B. J. Jacobs) and Captain J. H. Alewett, of Palmerston North.
