WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Prices showed very little movement on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, and trading was on the quiet side. A feature of the unofficial list market was a sharp firming in McKenzies Departmental Stores, which moved up on sales from 80s 9d to 82s 9d, buyers staying in at 82s. Government loans were generally firm and several parcels were traded at late rates. Banks were quiet, the only recorded business being a sale of Commercial of Australia preference at £9 11s 3d. Bank of Now Zealand D mortgage were firm at 28s 6d. Business in other sections was dull. There was a good demand for meat freezing ■ issues at current rates.
