, (From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, July 21. Some person has turned bis attention to letter boxes on the road sides, and during the past few days several have been broken. An axe, or similar tool, was used in some eases. It has been decided to beautify the Otaki State School grounds by the planting of more trees and to have an opening ceremony when the new classroom is completed. The fog was so dense on the Paekakariki hill -last night that it was only with considerable difficulty that motorists made the trip. Some visitors to Paraparaumu declined to make th* homeward journey. At the Otaki Railway Bowling Club’s euchre evening there was a good attendance. The winners were Miss Morgan and Mr D. Bishop (firsts) and Mrs Bell and Mr Taraka Tcwiata (seconds).
