STOWAWAY’S ESCAPADE.
OVERSEA VESSEL DELAYED,
i Per Press Association. GISBORNE, July 21. The escapade of a 17-year-old Auck- ■ land youth resulted in the liner Aus- | tralia Star being delayed half a day :on her voyage to the United King- ■ dom, the vessel diverting from her course and putting into Gisborne to land a stowaway who had secreted himself among the cargo. The youth was discovered when the liner was off East Cane and a radio message was sent to Gisborne to arrange for a launch to meet the ship and take off the boy, who was dispatched to Auckj land by car this morning.
