RACING IN AUSTRALIA.
SYDNEY. July 21 At the Menagle Park Races yosterduy J. Pike's Chief Ruler gelding. The Palmist, won the first and last races—the Maiden Welter of six furlongs and the Novice Handicap of six furlong'. Another New Zca'ander, Her Excellency, who met with interference, was unplaced in the Maiden Welter, and the steward* after an inquiry accepted her stable connections’ explanation. Maori Maid and Maid Marian dend-ltcat-eri for first in the two-year-old Maiden Handicap.
