ELDERLY WOMAN’S DEATH.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 21. The hypothesis that deceased lost her way and wandered or was blown into the harbour appealed to tbe Coroner (Mr Gilbertson) as tbe most likely explanation of the death of Isobel Rose Fuge, of Kaiwaiwai. Featherston, last Saturday. The evidence showed that deceased was elderly, frail and light of build and the night was rough and stormy. She arrived at Wellington and had to change trains at the new" station, where she had never been before. It was suggested that she lost her sense of direction and got on to the wharves.

Her husband said that deceased had never shown any suicidal tendencies. He and his wife had brought up a large family and had never quarrelled. The verdict was found drowned and there was no evidence to show how the body came to be in the water.
