PACIFIC AIR SERVICE
N.Z, AND PAN-AMERICAN CO. CO-OPERATION WITH BRITAIN
NEW YORK, July 20.
The Australian Associated Press on excellent authority learns that the New Zealand Finance Minister (Mr 4V. Nash) had extensive conversations with Pan-American Airways in expectation of the commencement of the service at the end of the year., A snag was hit when Pan-American Airways intimated that it was felt that earlier conversations with the New Zealand Government had left the company with the impression that it would solely control the service, instancing what it considered to be virtual promises by responsible officials. It is understood that Mr Nash advanced the Government’s viewpoint that the service could be conducted only on the basis of co-operation between Pan-American Airways and Imperial Airways, and insisted that Pan-Ame-rican Airways prepare to confer with Imperial Airways on the subject. It is believed Pan-American Airways reluctantly accepted the decision.
