RUGGED SHOW SHEEP.

An exhibit at tho Sydney Sheep Show that attracted wide interest and much discussion was a series of pons of Merino sheep, in each of which were animals that had been rugged since last season’s shearing, and animals which had not been rugged, but which had been grazed uiulor identical conditions in the same paddock. One of the pens depicted rugged and unrugged four-tooth ewes, shorn in October last, dipped in November, and drenched once in' tho case of the rugged sheep and no less than four times in tho case of the unrugged section. Tho comparison revealed a surprising improvement both in size of frame and bulk and quality of fleece in the case of the rugged sheep, the staple of which wa® about an inch longer, ’brighter, and much higher yielding. Tho rugged sheep were not only bigger and better fleeced, but also better nourished, and appeared to be doing well, while the uprugged sheep appeared to have been through a gruelling season, and looked out of place in a sheep show.
