BASKETBALL.
TE KAWAU BEAT EEILDING
Both tho A. and B. Feilding senior basketball teams suffered defeat in representative matches at Kongotea oil Saturday against To Kawau. The A team was beaten ‘22-—l6 and the B team 20—8. Excellent basketball was displayed in the A grade match, both teams exhibiting skill in goal throwing and efficient passing. In the first spell the teams were on an equal
basis with the score 9-all, but in the second half To Kawau drew away to score 13 points to Feilding’s 7. The teams were: Feilding, Misses P. Graham, It. Heap, P. Oliver, P. Baker, 1). Hunt, N. Heap, I). Burgess, T. Corkhill and N. Hendry. Te Kawau, Misses J. George, A. Tennant, U. Sargisson, J. Glasgow, M. Eraser, P. Teaz, It. Hill, 1. Murphy and E. Knox.
Tn tho B grade match, To Kawau were definitely the stronger team and, although Feilding secured 6 goals in the first half, Te Kawau had 11, while later Te Kawau increased the margin to 20 goals to Feilding’s total of 8. The. teams were: Feilding, Misses G. Bridgeman, B. Little, L. Coleman, D. Bridgeman, P. Symons, E. Short, S. Pearpoint, M. Parkcs and M. Gibson. Te Kawau, Misses D. Carter, L. Cornwall, J. Hades, M. Altree, It. Sim, P. Duffy, E. Boddv, J. Jarvis and P. Gray. Mr A. C.
Eades was the referee for both matches. ,
Results of last week’s junior games in Feilding are: Manchester Street A 3 v. Manchester Street B 2; Manchester Street A 6 v. Lytton Street B 3.
