LAMB SLIGHTLY EASIER. WETHER MUTTON FIRM. On the lamb market the best quality is steady, with prices unchanged. Other descriptions slightly easier owing to competition with and Patagonia. Mutton market: Wethers firm owing to light stocks. Ewes, market quiet and unchanged. Beef market: Frozen beef nominal. Chilled beef generally easier owing to hot woather affecting demand. Now Zealand porker pips: Trade alow. Now Zealand bnconer pigs: Market steady and unchanged. Tho abovo report was received on Saturday by the Meat Board froili its London office, which advises that tho following are the approximate prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of tho goods offering during the wook, being for business done on tho basis of delivered to Smithfiold market and/or ox London stores. Others unchanged. The market is quiet. The above cabled advice was received on Saturday by Levin and Co., Ltd., from their London agents. Tho Bank of New Zealand (produce department) lias received tho following advice from its London office aa at close of business last week: Tho market for wethers is firm. The demand for ewes is moderate. Tho market for lambs is steady and no material change is expected yet. Lower values are ruling for chilled beef owing to lack of demand.
