OPOSSUM SKINS.

PRICES AT DUNEDIN. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 16. Tho first opossum sale for the season was held to-day, when approximately 4800 skins wore offered. The quantity forward was exceptionally small owing to the very rough weather conditions since the trapping season opened, and, as most of the skins offered were early caught, tho quality was not good. The domain] was restricted, except for best-grade skins, which sold well up to last season’s rates, 16s being obtained for super blues. Secondary and inferior grades were generally about 6tl lower than last season. Following is the range of prices, the lower prices in each cose mostly representing North Island skins:—Super blues, 9s 6d to 16s; first blues, 7s 9d to 11s lOd; second blues, 6s 3d to 8s 7d ; super greys, 8s 9d to 13s 2d; first greys, 7s 4d to 10s 3d; second greys, 6s to 6s 6d; super reds, 4s 9d to 7s lOd; first reds, 4s to 6s 2d; second reds, 3s 6d to 4s 9d; super blacks, 6s od to 6s 8d; first blacks, 4s 6d to ss; second blacks, 3s 6d to 4s; super browns, 5s to 5s 9d; first browns, 4s 3d to 4s 9d ; second browns, 3s 4d to 3s 9d; small blacks, Is 5d to 3s; small blues and greys, Is 6d to 4s 3d; inferior and damaged, Is 8d to 3s.
