AWAHOU.
(From Our Own Corresnondcn.) AWAIJOU. July 16. Tho improved weather conditions since last, week-end have been very, welcome after the severe frosts and 'southerly winds experienced lately. Although very early in the season, dairy companies arc collecting cream every other day and bobby calves arc already being sent to tho freezing works. Recently a large wild pig was shot on a property adjoining the bush. Ii was evidently encouraged into the open by a mob of tamo pigs grazing in a crop nearby. At tho euchre party held in the Awahou North School poinls prizes were Avon by Mrs Brown and Mr 1). Bockett and consolation prizes by Miss M. Kitzhcrbcrt and Mr Hankins. Mrs F. Wagslafl' was tho wilier of the lucky game. Mr and Mrs London and family have taken lip residence ori No. 1 Line. Mr W. Anderson has returned from a holiday in iho Waikato district. Mrs Marshall has had her sister, Miss Dunstan, of Cheltenham, staying with her. Mr C. Saveli left recently to take up a position at Bulls.
