PLUNKET SOCIETY.

PALMERSTON NORTH BRANCH. Miss M. McLagan presided over the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North branch of tho Plunket Society, yesterday. Also present were Mesdames A. Coombs (president), M. Aitehison (secretary-treasurer), H. 15. Free, T. J. Rodgers, G. C. Petersen, L. A. Ferguson, G. Halse, R. T. Tidswel], W. G. Black and A. E. Mansford. Apologies for absence were received from Me,‘-dames L. H. Collinson and K. Garland.

The report presented by the Plunket nurse (Miss A. M. Kearns) stated that 159 visits had been paid to homes and 1300 to the office (adults 645, Babies 590, older children 65). There had been 33 new cases. Parcels of clothing were gratefully acknowledged from the Manawaiu Ladies’ Club, Mesdames* Brien, E. Graham, G. Halse and R. Burnett.

Dealing with out-stations, tlve report stated that five visits had been p.oid to Eoxton, and two to homes. There had been 213 visits to the office (babies 92, adults 105, older children 16). Six new cases had been added to the books. Salesi for the month had realised £l3 3s Bd. Membership fees had been received from Mrs J. Taylor. Mrs W. R. Proctor, Mrs M. Corrv. Mrs E. A. Gardiner. Mrs N. Smith. Mrs R. D. Loonev (5s each), Mrs R. Garner n.nd Mr Worry (10s). The collection box had realised £1 12s 7d. The financial statement was received and accounts were passed for payment. A report of the half-yearly meeting of the Dominion council was read by Mrs Petersen.
