(From Our Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON, July 14. It was very pleasing to sec such a good attendance at the Women’s Institute rnoetj ing hold yesterday. Mrs Will presided I and asked the members to stand ns a | mark of respect to the relatives of the | late Mr S. Lunisden. Visitors from San | son were Mrs Drew (member of the cxeeutive) and Mrs Grace. Mrs Oliver and 1 party from Oroua Downs demonstrated dress model making, Mrs Gibbons acting ns model. Mosdames Drew arid Grace noted as judge's of the jam tart competition, Miss Clare winning Mrs Mathew’s prize, Mrs Florence and Mrs Will being second and third respectively. Miss Ayers (1;, Alisa N. Scott (2) and Miss Will (3) were the winners of the wood-pulp flower competition, Mrs Sandcrcock judging and giving the prize. It was decided to hold an evening function for the fourth birthday, cards, dancing, and competitions, for which pmes were donated, being the form ■of entertainment. Miss Glare kindly consented to make the birthday cake anil Mrs Will to ice it. The competitions for . next month are kitchen apron (machinci sewn), and waggon covers (hand-made). 1 Owing to school being bold in the hall it i was decided to hold the group meeting I during tho September holidays. Her friends wore pleased to welcome Mrs Goldfinch back after a lengthy absence visiting relatives. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames N. Scott, Florence, j and Miss K. Maxwell.
