CAR AND LORRY COLLIDE.
ACCIDENT ON BRIDGE. On Saturday afternoon a motor-car owned by Mr Wilson Hopping, of Feilding, and a motor-lorry owned byMr E. J. Thompson, of Kopane, came into collision on a one-way bridge on the Awahuri Road, near Kitchener Park. Mr Hopping was proceeding towards Feilding and the other vehicle was going toward Awahuri. The vehicles met with considerable force and the railing of the bridge was completely broken down, while the lorrv narrowly avoided being precipitated into the flooded creek below. The car, which was a light model, was badly smashed, the right-hand side being torn away. The accident revenls the danger of one-way bridges on main roads. No .injuries were sustained by either party.
