BULLS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, June 5. There was a very fair attendance at the monthly meeting of the Parewanui Women’s Institute, held at “Apa House” on Wednesday. Mis H. F. Russell presided, and extended a welcome "to members and visitors. It was decided to forward £1 to the North Wellington Federation, and ako to donate 18s 3d to the King George Y Memorial Fund. The appeal of the committee of the Bulls Ladies’ Host and Plunkct Rooms met with a very hearty response, £1 16s being collected for the fund, with further promises of donations of cakes, etc., for the dance. As there was n 6 demonstration, a competition, a musical parcel, served to pasa the time away pleasantly, Mrs 11. Bowen proving the winner. The “roll call,” a winter pudding, brought forth some very nice recipes, after which each member was supplied with a piece of .material to work various fancy stitches. The competition for the best bar of soap resulted: Mrs A. Tattle 1, Mrs H. Bowen 2, Mrs A. Young 3. Mr L. Ransom, who has been accepted for the Royal Air Force, will leave for England in September io undergo training. Messrs T. Dwyer and H. Brown went to Auckland on Thursday to attend the Great Northern meeting. Miss if. Escotr, who lias been on holiday m the South Island, lias gone to Tauranga for the winter months. Mr 11. StevensJs confined to his bed flis the result of being injured by a motor lorry on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately no bones were broken. Mr C. C. Price has returned a successful game shooting trip to the Tauranga district.
