STANWAY INSTITUTE.
At the monthly meeting of the,Stanway Women’s. Institute Mrs Macfarlane presided. Two new members, Miss R. Groves and Mrs Lead, were welcomed. The members stood in silence as a motion of sympathy with the families of two members. It. was decided that the institute donate a guinea to the King George V. Memorial Fund. Mrs A. E. Groves gave a demonstration oil making puff pastry, for which she was accorded thanks. Competitions were judged by Mrs Load and .Mrs Arthur (Auckland), the results being: The host bloom in the garden, Mrs R. Cockimrn 1, Mrs I. Marshall 2; nut loaf, Mrs Cookburn 1, Mrs Macfarlane 2: picture, seniors,. Miss Cloro 1, Mis A. Green 2; juniors, Miss V. Green/l, Nliss J. Rosser 2. The hostesses for the next month will be Mcdames Cookburn, .A. Callingham, C. Christian, and Miss D. Callingham. Afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being accorded thanks.—Stanway correspondent.
