A deep and complex westerly depression is crossing the Dominion today, but pressure lias risen rapidly iver eastern Australia, Forecast, Strong north-westerly ,vinds to gales, backing to southerlies iy morning. Weather squally with heavy rain at times; snow on ranges and possibly hail and thunder in places. Temperatures becoming cold; seas rough. RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH.
