DEATH IN SURGERY.
COLLAPSE UNDER ANAESTHETIC Ter Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 3. When an anaesthetic was being administered to prepare Doreen lid} Paton, aged 18, for a tonsil operation in a city surgery yesterday morning tlie girl collapsed and died. The girl developed a cold and sore throat a few days ago, and on Tuesday a doctor was called in. lesteiday he called for the girl in lus car and took her to his surgery and had only started ,to administer the anaesthetic when she died. The father, William Paton, labourer, residing at Epsom, gave evidence at an inquest to-day that the girl had complained of difficulty in breathing. , T , , The Coroner, Mr F. K. Hunt, adjourned tlie inquest sinio die.
