Tho enchro party held in the Awahou North School was well attended. Prizes were won by Mrs Bockett and Mr J Brown, and consolation trophies by Mrs Wood and Mr W. Anderson. Mrs Spelman and Mr- I. Blixt won a lucky spot waltz. . Mossrs J. and A. Brown gave asocial evening for' their bachelor friends recently. Tho Raumai Ilall was well filled when residents of the district gathered to honour Mr W. Smart, who is to bo married this week. Mr W. Howell presented Mr Smart with a cheque ns a token of the esteem in which he is held. Mr Thompson represented the Pohangina Tennis Club in the absence of Mr Sinclair, and expressed pleasure that the guest would not be leaving the district. In appreciation of his service as secretary and player, Miss M. Maddison made the presentation of a handsome wall mirror. Mr and Mrs T. Close wero visitors to the district recently. Mr 11. Palmer is on holiday with friends at Wanganui. Miss I Montgomery .lias returned homo from a holiday at Taihape, Rangatuua, and Palmerston North.
