RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, June 3. At to-day’s meeting ot the' Rangitikei County Council the resignation of Mr W. S. Taylor the engineer s assistant, was received with great regret. Cr K. AV. Dalrvmple presided over the monthly meeting of the council. The Minister of Lands wrote -advising that he is obtaining a report upon the question of vesting three acres at the northern end of the scenic reserve in the Ohinewairau Survey District in the Council as a resting place for travelling stock. The Minister of Internal Affairs wrote thanking the council for its donation of £IOO towards the King George V Memorial Fund. A request from the Taihape Borough Council, asking for permission to encroach on the old roadway boundary a portion of the Taihape scenic reserve and the motor camp park with a new fence, was granted. A donation of £2 2s uas made to the Hunterville Town Board towards the-cost of the Coronation celebrations. The credit balance 3it® l last meeting’s payments amounted to £7135 11s 9d. Receipts during the month amounted■ to £l6/2 9s 9d ; payments amounted to £3007 11s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £SBOO 9s Bd, before to-day’s payments. After today’s payments of £4785 4s lOd of which £2835 Is is the hospital levy, the credit balance is reduced to £lOls, 4s lOd.
