WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. There were no special features yesterday in the Wellington stock and share markets. Trading was fairly brisk and a good turnover was recorded, the 25 sale's covering one lot of Government stock, 2775 shares and a large parcel of N.Z. Breweries “rights." Government Joans were generally steady, long-dated issues being firm. A parcel ot 4 per cent, stock, 1946-49, was sold late on Tuesday at £lO4 2s Gd. Bknlc issues were dull on a languid inquiry. New Zealand sold firmly at 455, and more were wanted at that price, sellers ntst responding. National of New Zealand were unchanged at 645, sellers 655. Commercial of Australia were weak at 18s lOd, sellers 19s Id. and Union showed ease at £ll, sellers asking 3s better. South British Insurance firmed to business at 955, and there were unanswered buyers of New Zealand at 63s 6d. Industrial shares were generally quiet and somewhat irregular. Dunlop-Perdriau 6old at 22s 3d to 22s 4d. Broken Hill Proprietary showed further weakness and sold a.t 79s 9d, more being wanted at that figure. Colonial Sugar were firm at £46 15s, sellers £47 10s. Mount Lyell sold at 44s 5d to 44s 4d, and Martha weakened to business at 14s Bd. Mt. Morgan fell away to 13s Id, buyers staying in at 12s lOd.
