KAIRANGA
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ICAIRANGA, June 2. On Tuesday a surprise pantry evening was held in honour of Miss Olive Green at her parents’ residence. '* The evening was spent ’ in games, competitions, and community singing, the older people playing cards. Roses, violets, and maidenhair fern decorated the rooms, which were cheery with log fires. Competition winners wore:—Putting balloons in saucers, Miss J. Green’s team 1. Shops, Misses F. Doherty, J. Green, and M. Bcvkahn equal X. Drawing blindfolded, Mr A. Pedersen 1. Miss. F. Doherty contributed a song. Supper was served, after which Miss Green opened the parcels. Mr A. Pedersen replied on her behalf. Those present were: Mesdames If. R. Green, L. Eglinton, "M. Clarke, R. Clarke, P. Small, Misses 0. Green, J. Green, J. Green, A. Goff, B. Hughes, M. Doherty, F. Doherty, A. Clark, hi.. Small, M. Berkahn, Messrs H. R. Green, A. Pederson, L. Eglinton, R, Clark, M. Freckling lon, and M. Cadagan. Mr and Mrs M. Burnicister, accompanied by Miss E. Burmeister and Mr and Mrs G. Bacon, aro on a motor tour of the Hamilton and Thames districts. Mr and Mrs G. Burmeister are' spending a holiday motoring in the North Island.
