Tail Light, the Awapuni candidate, completed useful work with threo furlongs in 44 1-Ssec at Ellerslie on Tuesday. “It is doubtful whether Tail Light has ever looked better than a.t present, and it should not be for lack of condition if ho fails to givo a good account of himself at the mooting,” comments a northern writer. 1 Bonnie Rollox Schools. Bonnie Rollox was schooled for the first time since his race at Egmont at Troiithain on Tuesday. Ridden by P. Like others of her family, she is a natural jumper, and the improvement stio has made in condition since her last appearance should enable her to run prominently in the Hunt Club events at. the Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting. Australian Rider Injured. Sprightiincss on the part of two-year-olds was responsible for considerable consternation at Menangle Park (Sydney), recently. The leading lightweight rider, W. Cook, sufferod a sprained ankle and severe shock when the favourite, Thyonc, fell in tho enclosure before the first division of tho Two-year-old Maiden Four. lie narrowly' escaped being thrown against a tree.
