NAVAL INFORMATION.
NO EXCHANGE YVITH JAPAN. (British Official YVireless.) Received June 3, 11.55 a.m. RUGBY, June 2. As the YVashington and London 1930 naval treaties are no longer in force and as Japan is not a party to the London Naval Treaty of 1936, no exchange of naval information takes place between Japan and this country, the First Lord of the Admiralty (Mr Duff-Cooper) stated in the House of Commons. His Alajesty’s Government had not therefore been informed of the Japanese intentions with regard to battleship construction. Since their refusal at the end of March to accept the 14-inch gun limitation, no further representations on the subject had been made to the Japanese Government.
