MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. TEAM’S VISIT TO WANGANUI. The management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union met last evening, Mr A. M. Ongley presiding. Others present were Messrs J. A. Colquhoun, K. W. Kglinton, L. J. Plank, J. R. Hardie, H. R. Crawford, G. H. Peters, P. 0. Skoglund. AV. Carrutliers, W. Glceson, A. Gordon, and L. G. Berry. Messrs G. AV. Smith and H. J. Hickey were granted leave of absence. Application was made by the Massey College Club for the transfer of A. Beattie from the Palmerston North Old Boys Club to the College junior team, also the regrading of J. Gilrny and Payne from senior to junior status. —Approved, the former subject to obtaining a clearance from the Old Boys Club. Advice was received from the AA ranganui Rugby Union that the match there against Manawatu on June 9 would commence at 10.30 a.m.—lt was decided to book hotel accommodation for nineteen players ('including two emergency forwards and two emergency back’s) and a manager. The Palmerston North Technical School applied for -the regrading of R. Carkeek from third to fourth grade. —Granted.

Confirmation of July 31 as the date of the junior match with Manawatu at Awaliuri was .received from the Te Kawau Sub-Union.

The New Zealand Rugby Union advised that the date for the closing of nominations of players for the North Island v. South Island nnitcli had been extended to June 15.

Intimating that they proposed to play a house match between the AVaingawa (Masterton) and the AVaitara works on June 9, Messrs Thos. Borthwick and Sons, Ltd., wrote making application for the use of a ground at Johnston Park, Feilding, (jn that date.—Approved. The Palmerston Noiih Old Boys Club, owing to the return of J. Betteridge from leave, applied for the regrading of H. It was decided to make the usual grant of £5 to the Feilding Agricultural High School for the use of the school football grounu. PARADE OF PLAYERS. , Suggestions were advanced by the chairman for the holding of Old-Timers’ Day, also for the extending of an invitation to legislators and city and county councillor's to attend as the guests of the union at a special match, and for the organisation of a Players’ Day, all grades to parade under club banners. It was decided to entertajn all councillors from the Oroua, Kiwi tea and Feilding areas at the representative match against AVairarapa in Feilding on Augus.t 7, and to hold Old-Timers' Day on August 28, the date of the representative match at Palmerston North against Otago, when old representative players and local body representatives in other parts of the district would be the guests of the union. The parade of players would also be held on the same day, The union will provide banners showing, each decade for the old-timers, and the clubs will be asked to provide suitable placards lor their teams. Arrangements will bo made for a parade, in playing uniform if possible, of all players down to the sixth gra*ie, and the three local bands are to be asked to participate ill the procession. It was decided to reopen the insurance scheme for the month of June, and to inform clubs that no player would be eligible for representative selection unless insured. Messrs Eglinton and Hardie were appointed a committee to investigate the efficient lighting of the Showgrounds for night practices. It was also decided to have a defective floodlight at the Veilding ground repaired.
