Cribb won the cup and saucer in the A grade, and in the B grade H. Matthews and A. Matthews tied tor first place. H. Salt won the C grade. Mr J. Austin, who met with an accident and was an inmate of the Hospital, has returned home. The monthly meeting of (he Awahuri branch of the Labour. Party was held on Monday evening. Mr W. _ Salt presided. Correspondence from the Minister of 1 üb* lie Works and Transport was discussed and it was decided to thank the Miliser for the information supplied. Jhe report of the organising eommiitno was received and after considerable discussion was approved. It was decided to continue the fortnightly euchre parties. A general meeting in connection with the diamond jubilee was held on Saturday evening, Air N. Campbell being m the chair. The various c< mmittces presented reports which showed a growing <•ii.husiasm; the financial response has been very encouraging. Final • .rrangements are practically completed and a very ! arge gathering is anticipated.
